Adult Counselling (18+)
Welcome to With You In Mind Counselling, a dedicated space where adults can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a confidential and supportive environment. Life can present us with a myriad of challenges, and sometimes, navigating them alone can feel overwhelming. We believe that everyone deserves a compassionate ear and professional guidance to foster personal growth and well-being.
We offer a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space for you to explore whatever is on your mind. Our counsellors work with a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailored to your unique needs and goals. We believe in empowering you to develop coping strategies, gain new perspectives, and ultimately, improve your emotional well-being.
Emotional Well-being
Our emotions can sometimes feel overwhelming, leading to anxiety, low mood, or a sense of being stuck. Counselling offers practical tools and new perspectives to help you cultivate greater emotional balance. Counselling supports you in managing stress and anxiety. A significant part of our work also focuses on helping you boost self-esteem and confidence, challenging negative self-talk and building a stronger sense of self-worth.
Relationships & Life Transitions
Relationships, whether with partners, family, friends, or colleagues, are central to our lives and can be a source of significant challenge. We offer a space to process and understand relationship dynamics, identifying unhealthy cycles and gaining insight into how your own experiences and behaviours impact connection. If you're struggling with conflict, a breakup, divorce, or navigating complex family situations, we can help you process relationship difficulties and support you in moving forward, ultimately aiming to help you build healthier connections in your life.
Understanding Emotions
Our past experiences, both positive and negative, profoundly shape who we are and how we interact with the world. Sometimes, unresolved issues from the past can continue to affect our present well-being. Counselling provides a safe and confidential environment to explore unresolved issues, gently revisiting past events or relationships that may still be impacting you. This allows you to process lingering emotions and thoughts in a contained way. Through this process, you can gain new perspectives on how past events contributed to current behaviours or emotional responses, leading to greater self-awareness.
The Beginning
The initial sessions are dedicated to getting to know you and what brings you to counselling. This is a time for building a foundation of trust and understanding. We provide a safe, confidential space where you can share your experiences and concerns at your own pace. There's no pressure to delve deep immediately; the focus is on ensuring you feel heard, understood, and comfortable as we begin this process together.
The Journey
Once a comfortable rapport is established, your regular sessions become your dedicated time and space for self-exploration and growth. Here, you can talk openly about anything on your mind, explore challenging feelings, or work through difficult situations. This might involve conversation, reflective exercises, or other methods tailored to your preferences. Your counsellor is here to listen empathetically, offer guidance, and help you develop your own insights and coping strategies.
The Ending
Knowing when to stop counselling is a personal decision, not a fixed number of sessions. Sometimes, support is needed for a short while to tackle a specific issue. Other times, it's a medium-term journey for bigger challenges, or even long-term for deeper personal growth. We'll regularly check in together to see how things are going, and the decision to end counselling is made when you feel ready.
